Jamie went in to surgery this morning at 6a.m. our time and will be out of surgery at 1:00p.m. our time. She should go to her room about 9p.m. tonight. Steve will be there all day. Kathy Roman & Jamie's parents are there with them in South Carolina until Friday. Jamie's sister, Robbie, then comes in on Friday for the next week. She will be in the hospital until the end of the week.

They met with the Dr. yesterday for the pre-op. Pleased with how nice he is, but he gave them many details that they were not expecting... things like the fact that Jamie will still have a drain in her abdomen for the flight home, the fact that the catheter(sp?) will be in longer after this surgery than the last. Dr. said that "the first day after surgery is not pretty" but he wouldn't give her any more details. Each day thereafter, there will be improvements.

He also said she won't be able to do any stairs, nor stand up straight for 3 weeks. She will be hunched over and it will be hard to live life without constant help. Some of this Jamie knew, other parts of it were quite a shock to her.

The blood clotting/thinning is going well.

Pray:
1. For surgery to go well. No complications. Peace for Steve & Gavi.
2. No complications after surgery with anything - especially port and catheter(sp?), and clotting
3. Pray God will sustain her and that her body will be able to handle all of this. That His peace would cover her.
4. That Jamie would awaken from surgery with a renewed joy for life that only He can give.

Thank you for covering them in prayer during this time. Check this blog often for udpates. (J & S are trying to conserve their cell phone minutes.) Let her know you are thinking of her/them by writing a comment on this blog.

God bless you all!
